Short Biosketch

Prof.  Dr. med. Tilmann Kallinich studied human medicine at the University of Tübingen and the Humboldt University in Berlin. This was interrupted for a study of “Molecular and Cellular Biology” at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

After graduation, he worked as a post-doc in the department of “Molecular Immunology” at the Robert Koch Institute.

He completed his further training as a specialist in pediatrics as well as in rheumatology and pneumology at the Charité Children’s Hospital. Since 2010, he has headed the section for rheumatology and autoimmune diseases there.

Scientifically, Tilmann Kallinich focuses on the pathomechanisms and management of monogenic autoinflammatory diseases as well as juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Since 2019, he is leading the Liasongroup “Chronic Inflammation in Childhood” at the German Rheumatism Research Center
