World Arthritis Day on October 12 draws attention to the effects of rheumatic diseases: many patients suffer from pain, exhaustion and occupational limitations. Using patient-reported data, epidemiologists at the DRFZ highlight gaps in patient care and also the challenges affected persons face in everyday life and at work. Thanks to the help of those patients, the effects of the disease are better recognized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left alignwide toc-item\" id=\"world-rheumatism-day-2025\"><strong>Medicine of the future in the spotlight: Rheumatic diseases in focus &#8211; Shaping health<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alignwide wp-block-paragraph\">This year, the Rheuma-Liga Berlin, in collaboration with the DRFZ, invites you to the DRFZ on October 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for World Arthritis Day under the theme: \u201c<strong>Medicine of the future in the spotlight: Rheumatic diseases in focus &#8211; Shaping health<\/strong>\u201d As part of this event, both the DRFZ\u2019s Avrion-Mitchison Prize and awards from the Wolfgang Schulze Foundation will be handed out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alignwide wp-block-paragraph\">A tour of the institute will be offered starting at <strong>3:00 p.m.<\/strong> Please register with the Rheuma-Liga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading alignwide toc-item\" id=\"years-of-the-rheuma-liga-berlin-50-years-of-research-and-care\"><strong>Programm<\/strong>e<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alignwide wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The event will be held in German.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading alignwide toc-item\" id=\"welcome-\"><strong>Welcome <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alignwide wp-block-paragraph\">Moderator: <strong>Gerd Rosinsky<\/strong>, German Rheumatism League Berlin e.V.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dr. Ina Czyborra<\/strong>, Senator for Science, Health, and Care of the State of Berlin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prof. Dr. med.
