Comprehensive training for young scientists at the DRFZ<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The DRFZ offers comprehensive training for young scientists to provide them with an understanding of scientific concepts, proficiency in state-of-the-art technologies, and the ability to develop their own scientific projects. The doctoral students can be members of the Graduate School of the DRFZ Leibniz Graduate School on Chronic Inflammation (LeGCI) or other related graduate programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are more than 100 doctoral students working in the research groups at the DRFZ.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of them are members of the DRFZ’s graduate program Leibniz Graduate School on Chronic Inflammation (LeGCI), or another cooperating doctoral program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to ensure a high quality of supervision, the doctoral candidates conclude a supervision agreement. Each doctoral candidate is supervised by a Thesis Advisory Committee consisting of at least three experienced scientists for the entire duration of the doctoral thesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leibniz Graduate School on Chronic Inflammation<\/h2>\n \n \n
\n\n

In the interdisciplinary, structured doctoral program Leibniz Graduate School on Chronic Inflammation (LeGCI), we train specialists in rheumatic and other chronic inflammatory diseases. It follows a translational approach at the interface between basic and clinical research. The graduate program addresses PhD as well as MD students. Doctoral students receive scientific and personal mentoring, gain technical expertise and soft skills.<\/p>\n

LeGCI is associated to the ZIBI Graduate School Berlin<\/a> and is an accredited graduate program of the Charit\u00e9 \u2013 Universit\u00e4tsmedizin Berlin.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n\n\n

About LeGCI<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Supervision<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each doctoral student completes a Supervision Agreement with at least three experiences scientists. Regular meetings with the Advisory Committee ensure an optimal professional support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Curriculum<\/strong>
The additional curriculum includes seminars and lectures on immunology and chronic inflammation research, courses and workshops to improve the scientific and personal skills and activities to foster research collaborations and personal networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Credit point system<\/strong>
The credit point system of LeGCI follows the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Study Record Book<\/strong>
Each doctoral researcher documents the activities in a Study Record Book (see below for link).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doctorate at a Berlin university<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
