The network, led by Professor Dr. Il-Kang Na, Department of Medicine with a focus on haematology, oncology and tumor immunology at Charit\u00e9, brings together leading Berlin research institutions with international experts. The aim of the circle is to initiate new research projects, exchange current findings and further improve innovative therapeutic approaches in cancer and inflammation medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alignwide has-text-align-wide wp-block-paragraph\">The Einstein Circle brings together outstanding Berlin research institutions &#8211; including the Charit\u00e9, the Max Delbr\u00fcck Center, the DRFZ and the FU. Anja Hauser from the DRFZ plays an important role. She is a founding member of the European Society for Spatial Biology e.V. (ESSB). The society is committed to promoting the still young discipline of researching the spatial organization of tissues in a healthy condition and in inflammatory processes. The close relationships with European research partners strengthen the international orientation of the circle and open up a wide range of opportunities for cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alignwide has-text-align-wide wp-block-paragraph\">The focus of the collaboration is on initiating new research projects, exchanging scientific findings and developing approaches for innovative therapies in oncology and inflammation research. The focus here is on understanding and specifically modifying disease mechanisms directly in the tissue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alignwide has-text-align-wide wp-block-paragraph\">A graduate program is also planned to systematically support young scientists in the field of Spatial Biology<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alignwide has-text-align-wide wp-block-paragraph\">Berlin is one of the leading locations for biomedical research &#8211; particularly in oncology, vascular biology and immuno-oncology. New technologies such as single cell analysis or spatial imaging provide deeper insights into the interaction between tumors, tumor cells, inflammation and the vascular system. The Einstein Circle is building on this strength in a focused way &#8211; with the clear aim of improving patient care in the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading alignwide toc-item\" id=\"einstein-circle\">Einstein-Circle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alignwide has-text-align-wide wp-block-paragraph\">The Einstein Circle is a funding format of the Einstein Foundation Berlin for scientists in Berlin who aim to work together in interdisciplinary networks. The objective is to promote exchange between different disciplines and to jointly develop new scientific questions. Generally, 10 to 20 researchers work together in a circle, of which up to a third can be invited from Germany or abroad.
