Our Scientific Director, Prof. Dr. Eicke Latz, is one of the world\u2019s most influential researchers of 2024, as the recently published list of \u201cHighly Cited Researchers\u201d by Clarivate shows. This list comprises one percent of researchers whose work is most frequently cited internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The citation frequency of scientific papers is considered a measure of a researcher\u2019s influence on their field. This year\u2019s list of the most cited researchers includes 6,636 scientists from 59 countries, 332 of them from Germany. About 20 scientific areas were examined, including medicine, natural sciences, economics and social sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The analysis is based on the \u201cWeb of Science Core Collection\u201d database, which includes articles from over 20,000 scientific journals. All researchers selected by Clarivate have authored several Highly Cited Papers\u2122 that rank in the top 1% of the most cited articles in their field and publication year in the Web of Science\u2122 over the last ten years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
