Postdoctoral Fellow / Scientific employee (m/f/div) for 3+2 years with experience in flow cytometry

The research group of Prof. Dr. Ria Baumgrass at the German Rheumatism Research Center (DRFZ) Berlin is looking for a

Postdoctoral Fellow / Scientific employee (m/f/div) for 3+2 years

with experience in flow cytometry

The group is working on molecular mechanisms of lymphocyte activation and activation-induced cell fate decisions to understand the role of immune cells in chronic inflammatory diseases (such as allergy and SLE). Our focus is on regulation of cytokine co-expression, digital decision making and protein-based pattern recognition of immune cells under physiological and pathological conditions.

Global unbiased approaches and our own multi-parametric visualization tool “Pattern Recognition of Immune Cells (PRI)” help us to answer the question which cell subpopulations are hyperactive in chronic inflammatory diseases and how they change during the course of the disease or with treatment.

The current network project (with the Universities of Rostock and Erlangen) focusses on activation of macrophage and T cell subpopulations in the context of Melanoma and anti-PD1 therapy.

Your tasks:

  • Independent conduction of research projects in the field of molecular immunology, including presentation and publication of the data
  • Participation in teaching and mentoring students

Your profile:

  • A PhD in immunology
  • A motivated and dedicated personality
  • Experience and knowledge in cytometry
  • Good computer skills
  • Very good English language skills
  • Experience in the field of cellular immunology
