Our Scientific Director, Prof. Dr. Eicke Latz, is one of the world’s most influential researchers of 2025, as the recently published list of “Highly Cited Researchers” by Clarivate shows. This list comprises one percent of researchers whose work is most frequently cited internationally. Eicke Latz has been consistently ranked among the “Highly Cited Researchers” for over 10 years.
The citation frequency of scientific papers is considered a measure of a researcher’s influence on their field. This year’s list of the most cited researchers includes 6,868 scientists from 60 countries, 332 of them from Germany. About 20 scientific areas were examined, including medicine, natural sciences, economics and social sciences.
The analysis is based on the “Web of Science Core Collection” database, which includes articles from over 20,000 scientific journals. All researchers selected by Clarivate have authored several Highly Cited Papers™ that rank in the top 1% of the most cited articles in their field and publication year in the Web of Science™ over the last ten years.
