3rd Graduate Student & Postdoc Research Day at DRFZ

A Day of Learning, Collaboration, and Fun!

On November 20, 2025, we hosted our 3rd Annual Graduate Student & Postdoc Research Day, and it was a huge success! About 45 participants came together for a day of engaging presentations, insightful discussions, and exciting activities. The PhD representatives Anja Heuhsen and Anna Casanovas Subirana organized the event in kind collaboration with Jessica Haub and Fabian Schorn from the company Miltenyi Biotec.

The event featured a mix of talks and poster presentations, showcasing the incredible work being done by our graduate students and postdocs.

We are happy to announce the winners of this year’s oral and poster presentations:

A key highlight of the day was our Mental Health Session, where participants learned how to detect stress levels and strategies to navigate toward a healthier, more balanced state —reminding us all of the importance of mental well-being in research.

Miltenyi also brought technical expertise and career development insights, along with some fun interactive activities like Cytokine Jenga and a VR experience that let us explore the brain of a fly in a whole new way!

In addition to exploring the latest in research, we had inspiring discussions about career paths beyond academia and the potential of R&D as an exciting bridge between academic research and industry.
