DRFZ wrap-up on bio:cap Europe 2026

Following three days of intensive exchange, the inaugural bio:cap Europe has come to a close this week— and the DRFZ looks back on a rewarding and successful investival!

bio:cap 2026 brought together start-ups, investment consortia, policymakers and the pharmaceutical industry in Berlin, creating a new ecosystem to help translate European biotech innovation into global market success. For the DRFZ, the meeting offered a valuable opportunity to present the institute’s emerging start-ups, engage in discussions with potential international partners, and evaluate the latest perspectives in biomedical and translational research.

A particular highlight was the involvement of Prof. Dr. Eicke Latz, who served on the bio:cap Steering Committee and played a key role in shaping the meeting. During the political evening on 10 June, he helped bring together leading figures from politics, translational medicine, and venture capital to discuss how Germany’s position as a European hub for innovation and biotechnology can be further strengthened.

The DRFZ would like to thank all visitors, organisers and discussion partners for the inspiring exchange at bio:cap 2026. We are already looking forward to bio:cap 2027, which will take place on 29-30 June next year in Berlin!
