Carlo Veltri honored with prize for health services research

Carlo Veltri was honored on September 9, 2026, during the opening ceremony of the German Rheumatology Congress in Leipzig.
The researcher from Dr. Johanna Callhoff’s research group at the DRFZ received the Hans Hench Prize for Health Services Research for a publication based on the core documentation regarding the increase in employment participation among patients with rheumatic diseases.

Increase in employment among patients with rheumatic diseases

The employment participation of people with inflammatory rheumatic diseases has increased since 2010. However, the employment rate is still below the population average. Carlo Veltri published these findings in the international journal RMD Open.

Hans-Hensch-Prize

An award for emerging researchers given by the Foundation and the DGRh for outstanding scientific achievements in the field of pediatric and internal medicine rheumatology rehabilitation and health services research, in the amount of 2,000 euros.
