BR50

Non-University Research in Berlin—For a Fair, Healthy, and Sustainable Future

BR50 was founded in 2020 and brings together nearly all non-university research institutions and research centers in the Berlin region. The DRFZ is also part of this network. BR50 strengthens networking and coordination among the participating institutions, facilitates collaboration with Berlin’s universities, and promotes dialogue with stakeholders from civil society and politics.

As a counterpart to the Berlin University Alliance (BUA)—the consortium comprising Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt University of Berlin, the Technical University of Berlin, and Charité—University Medicine Berlin—BR50 offers a shared platform for dialogue and exchange among non-university research institutes in Berlin.

The DRFZ is also represented on the network’s executive board: Uta Bielfeldt, Administrative Director of the DRFZ, holds the position of treasurer there.
