We are Anja (AG Mashreghi) and Anna (AG Radbruch), your DRFZ doctoral representatives and we want to support and strengthen the doctoral community in our institute. Our main objectives include the organization of events focusing on scientific topics, career orientation and interdisciplinary collaborations. Furthermore, we want to continue cultivating an inclusive and supportive environment where every PhD and MD student can thrive academically and personally.
You are a PhD or MD student and not part of the PhD Newsletter yet, but would like to get informed about events in the future? Then write us phd-reps@drfz.de to add you to the mailing list of doctoral students.
We are excited to build a strong network of doctoral students and would love to hear your suggestions for changes or events you would like to see at the DRFZ. So please do not hesitate to come by our offices or send us an email. We are here for you!
Anja, Mashreghi-Lab
Hallo!
Hi!
My name is Anja Heuhsen and I am a first-year PhD candidate in the lab of Mir-Farzin Mashreghi. I was born and raised in Berlin and studied Biochemistry here at the Freie Universität Berlin.
My project focusses on the impact of previous influenza A virus encounters on the humoral and cell-mediated immune memory response. In my free time, you will most likely find me with coffee and a book in the sun or in the gym.
Hello everyone!
I´m Anna Casanovas Subirana, a first year PhD candidate in the lab of Prof. Andreas Radbruch and Prof. Hyun-Don Chang. I am from Barcelona (Spain) were I studied medicine. Later I did a master´s degree in Biomedicine in Uppsala (Sweden). At the DRFZ my project is focussed on memory B cell survival and their contribution to secondary immune reactions. In my free time, I like to train aerial sports, sing with my choir and meet with friends.
It was no April Fool’s joke: on April 1, 2025, the doctoral students and postdocs of the DRFZ met with the Executive Board to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. From now on, we want to meet regularly so that we can get to know each other and our research and, above all, our daily experiences better. Be part of it!
The PhD network was established in 2016 as part of theLeibniz Science Campus Inflammation.
We thank our predecessors for their commitment:
